Tasmanian Times Tasmania (4 days) You'll begin your stay on the lovely and varied island of Tasmania in Hobart, the second oldest city in Australia. Hobart was built by 19th-century convicts and is now home to a vibrant urban culture set on one of the most beautiful natural harbors in the world. Upon your arrival in Hobart, you'll pick up your Hertz rental car and head to the Wrestpoint Casino, which features great views and well-appointed rooms. After a one night stay in Hobart, you'll drive to the historic town of Port Arthur, a one-time prison town which has become the symbol of Australia's convict heritage. From there you'll travel to Freycinet National Park, a stunning and pristine marine wonderland where you'll find white sand beaches that stretch for miles, eagles flying overhead, and dolphins cavorting offshore. In the park you'll spend two nights at the Freycinet Lodge, a charming resort and winner of an Australian Environmental Tourism Award, where the cabins nestle into the wilderness and wallabies may greet you at your door and where the elegant restaurant serves oysters plucked fresh from the sea. On your fourth day, you'll drive back to Hobart. The tour price includes a car for three days, hotel accommodations, taxes and breakfast and dinner in Freycinet.
