The Maharani's Tour

You’ll start your tour in India’s capital, Delhi. Here you’ll stay at the Oberoi, and elegant hotel in the heart of Delhi with a view over Humayan’s Tomb; or at the opulent Taj Mahal Hotel. On your first morning in Delhi, you’ll visit Old Delhi and tour some of India’s landmarks: the massive seventeenth-century Red Fort; the famous mosque, Jama Masjid; and the 300-year old Chandra Chowk market. You’ll also see Raj Ghat, a monument to Mahatma Ghandi. In the afternoon you’ll visit New Delhi and see the Qutab Minar; Humayan’s Tomb, the inspiration for the Taj Mahal; and the renowned government buildings, a fusion of Indian and European architectural styles.
The following day you’ll take an express train to Agra. You’ll stay at the exquisite Agra Vilas or at the Taj View. In Agra, once the capital of the Mughal Empire, ypu’ll visit the Agra Fort, begun by the great leader Akbar. The fort offers a magical view of the building you’ll visit next, the Taj Mahal, India’s most famous landmark. You’ll also visit Itmad-Ud-Daulah’s Tomb, another all-marble mausoleum, which predates the Taj Mahal.
The next day, after an optional sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, you’ll depart for the “pink city” of Jaipur. En route you’ll stop at Akbar’s 16th century city, Fatehpur Sikri. In Jaipur, you’ll stay at the stunning Raj Vilas or at the Jai Mahal Palace. Jaipur is a walled city of pink and orange buildings, camel drawn carts and colourful Rajasthanis. You’ll visit Amber, the great fort, approaching it on the back of an elephant. You’ll also visit the City Palace, the Jantar Mahtar ancient observatory, and the city’s colourful market, dominated by the Palace of the Winds.
From Jaipur, you’ll fly to Udaipur, a city of palaces built around a lake. You’ll stay at the beautiful Udai Vilas or at the Trident Hilton. In Udaipur, you’ll visit the City Palace and tour its Crystal Gallery and see the Sahelion Ki Bari, and the Folk Art Museum and take a walking tour of the old city. On your last day you’ll have a free morning in Udaipur and then you’ll return to Delhi for your flight home.

The tour price includes, domestic flights, hotel accommodations, breakfasts, private chauffeur-driven transport, sightseeing as noted with private guide services, meet and assist at all hotels, airports and railway stations.
